I never thought it would happen, but it has: this blog has officially been around longer than the previous one. The original blog ran from late August 2003 to early February 2008, just shy of four and a half years. Text and Violence launched on June 1, 2008, and as of today, it’s hit the four and half year mark, surpassing its predecessor. I honestly didn’t think I’d keep it up this long; I got bored with the old blog, and even changed its format a few times before dumping it. There were plenty of times where I’ve run out of ideas for this one, too, but somehow I kept on going.
I must say thanks to all five or six of you for reading my complaints, grumblings, and other nonsense over the past four and a half years. And that’s not sarcasm, I really do appreciate it!
So what do you think? This blog is on track to hit the five-year mark in June, but how far will it go beyond that?

TEN MILLION YEARS.
To infinity and beyond!

I wasn’t blogging back then, but I know I made a bunch of stupid message board posts on that day.
