The third birthday

Site Updates 4 Comments

Somehow it slipped my mind (I blame the pollen outside), but June 1 was this blog’s third birthday. Somehow, I’ve managed to keep writing posts that appeal to three or four readers. Two more years, and Text and Violence will have been around longer than the previous blog!

And just like last June, most searches that led here over the past year are are still from people looking for sexy Shaak Ti. Perverts.

Upgrade to WordPress 3.0

Site Updates No Comments

I’ve updated this blog’s software to WordPress version 3.0. Since this a major software update, there may be some slow page loading at first as the database is upgraded. Other than that, please let me know if you run into any problems reading, commenting, et cetera. Thanks!

This is where readers’ priorities lie

Two years after its publication, “The sluttification of Shaak Ti” is still the most popular post on this blog, by a very wide margin. The top searches used to find this blog have been largely the same for the past two years, as well, featuring such gems as “shaak ti sexy,” “shaak ti sex,” and “shaak ti boobs.”

You people are sick.

Slowdown

Site Updates No Comments

If you’re noticing that updates have been more sporadic than usual, you’re not crazy: I’ve been running out of things to post about lately, and I’d rather post nothing at all than half-ass it. Wait: considering that I do that a lot anyway, I guess a more accurate term would be “quarter-ass it.”

I’m sure something will come along that will make me grumble, and eventually give rise to more frequent posts. Want to help? Comment with something that pisses you off, and if it’s also something that pisses me off, I might just be able to flesh it out into a full post. Everybody wins!

The Indigo Tribe

Personal, Site Updates 1 Comment

This has nothing to do with my usual ranting, but instead, just a bit of shameless self-promotion:

That’s my new blog, dedicated to all things Green Lantern. I figured I’d grumbled about the book here enough; I might as well spin it off into its own blog, where I can offer other writings as well. If you’re a fan, you’d do well to check it out.
